I'm an AMDer, but something tells me that my AthlonXP isn't going to cut it. On the other hand, if someone wants to lend me an Athlon64 or an Opteron... :D :D

Just toying with the idea of putting an Athlon 64 system together. Any suggestions as to which motherboard, CPU, memory, power supply requirements or would it be better to wait a while longer?
Thinking along the lines of MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R, AMD Athlon 64 3000 Retail pack, Crucial Memory.

A couple of my fellow Mods at MSI are running the MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R and are very happy with it. The next gen nForce3 Pro Chipset is due to be released soon, and should be a very good alternative to the VIA Chipsets.
