Fighter pilots wanted

Sorry I cant find the original thread which introduced me to this website. But just a quickie to say its all up and running superbly now.
<a href="http://www.airattack.co.uk/club/index2.html" target="_blank">http://www.airattack.co.uk/club/index2.html</a>

Click here and follow the steps and you'll be flying Spitfires (among others) online against dozens of others, its quite addictive.
Merry Christmas.

Thanks Pengineer, I now officially have no life, as all my spare time seems to be here or in AirAttack!!!!!!!
Loads of fun, but glad I don't have to do it for real, I've been crashing & burning all day!! :)

Pengineer 26th Dec 2001 12:53

Well if youre going to disagree with what I say, I'm gonna have to 'shoot yer ass off' next time I see you in Air Attack!
Whats your call sign so I can watch for you?

Its a bit tricky at first but after a while you get the hang of it. Theres a few tricks like dropping your gear and flaps if someones on your six, then watch them shoot past you, then nip in behind them and......ah well, must scramble.

Pen it off! 26th Dec 2001 18:04

PEN,

I'D LIKE TO HAVE A GO ON THIS ONE, KEEP A EYE OUT FOR A FEW RODNEYS I'D LIKE TO STRAFFE. HOWEVER, CALL ME A TIGHT ARSE IF YOU WANT, BUT DO YOU HAVE TO PAY TO JOIN?

TREAT YOUR AEROPLANES LIKE YOUR WOMEN, JUMP IN 'EM THREE TIMES A DAY AND TAKE 'EM TO HEAVEN AND BACK! :) :)

OzPax1 26th Dec 2001 22:55

And then go down in flames!! :) :) :)

jfe117 26th Dec 2001 23:34

Every few seconds you'll see "????? has destroyed Cpt.Darling"...that would be me!!!! <img src="rolleyes.gif" border="0">
I'm still just barely surviving for a few minutes at atime, in the rookie Public Free for All arena.
I'm sure I'll be there later......much, much later!!!

Pengineer - you are both a godsend and a geet <img src="tongue.gif" border="0">

You're a Godsend 'cause AirAttack si absolutely fantastic - the most fun I've had so far this Xmas. which is sad I know <img src="frown.gif" border="0">

And you're a g*t because I can't stop playing :)

Keep a look out for me - callsign "niteflite01" (arf arf!!) and say hullo - would be good to do some airborne teamwork with fellow PPRuNeRs <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

Kermit 180 27th Dec 2001 11:26

Watch for 'Kermstein' (usually easily identified as normally crashing in flames).

And by the way, thanks for filling in the rest of my holidays too! <img src="rolleyes.gif" border="0">

Beef Curtains 27th Dec 2001 22:47

No its totally free and excellent fun. Watch for Captain Beefy.

Beef Curtains 27th Dec 2001 22:53

Maybe we should get our own squadron going.

4g_handicap 28th Dec 2001 00:25

Whiskey Zulu 29th Dec 2001 14:08

Err, it was me that told ya about air attack. <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> Seems Pprune thought it was advertising! And deleted the thread! Jeez it's only an on-line game. Whatever. Anyway see you in the ethereal skies. Start in Rookies and when you feel brave enough, venture into Full Theatre FFA or Teams. Most fun you can have without takin your clothes off.
Oh yee of little faith. <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> I have about 16 alias's (4 of which are AMA's) but watch out for Hamlet, Bloodthirsty or Harpoon and say hello. C'mon in Ppruners the more the merrier. dakakakakaka :)
Anyone interested in joining a squad, (matches are even more addictive!) post on here and I'll get in touch.

Glad you enjoy it m8. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

Whiskey Zulu 29th Dec 2001 23:31

Yup, a Pprune special events squadron sounds a brill idea. Is there enough of us? I've got a AMA called Whiskey Zulu as well, but that old crate needs a tune up before I take her up again. <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

Yup, put me down for a squadron thingy too.

And please, have sympathy for me - I'm incredibly ill <img src="frown.gif" border="0">

Kermit 180 30th Dec 2001 11:00

Real pilots have an advantage over the Pentium ones? <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> Could've fooled me! All I seem to do is add to other people's scores and rank promotions! <img src="rolleyes.gif" border="0">

Kermie 'Kermstein'

Whiskey Zulu 30th Dec 2001 15:22

Kermie, some ppl have been playing Air Attack for 4 years! Only way to get better is practice, practice, practice. Use the early spit in FFA. It's got good cannons if not as fast as the later spit. You access upgraded planes when you are 20 kills from SQL rank. When you get a bit better, go into team arena and practice with the ME109 and the LA7 great planes in a team battle but not very good in FFA. You've got to get used to their strengths and weaknesses. Swoop & boom is the only way to fly the 109. And shoot close up in it. The cannons are lethl within 500m but overheat after 3 seconds, so you've got to be accurate! If you time it right they explode! 1v1 is good praccy as well. Just ask someone for a 1v1 and record your 0-10 defeat and learn from it. :) Oh and for any real pilots ...... remember to turn your TCAS off, otherwise it gets annoying in FFA. <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

Not to encourage further sleepless nights among the multi player air combat community, but have you lot played Aces High? It's by far and away the mutt's nuts when talking about online furballs and looks bloody fantastic to boot. (and you get to drive tanks as well as fly spitfires and b-17's and so on and so forth).

<a href="http://www.hitechcreations.com/htchome.html" target="_blank">Aces High - just look at the screenshots!</a>

This one DOES have a subscription BUT you don't have to pay for the 8 player head to head option EVER so if that meets your needs it's completely free (and you get the usual free trial).

Try it, it rocks.

Whiskey Zulu 30th Dec 2001 20:31

Tried it m8. AA has much better game play and a community that rocks. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">
