I love my iMac ...
Sorry about this (actually not really) - but I just wanted share how pleased I am with my 5 month old iMac (17in, 1GHz). 
I first used Macs back in 1988 - with the first (pre Windoze) version of Excel when you had to have some of the system files on the floppy disk that you saved files on.
At last I have returned - after just a "few" years in the wilderness using Windoze and PCs.
The design. beauty, simplicity of use is amazing (the set up document that came with it is ONE sheet of paper - none of this 60 page booklet in a foreign language rubbish (!) you get with anything PC related)..

Yes, the iMac 1Ghz 17" is a wonderful machine. I've had mine for the same amount of time as you, and the amount of drooling it has attracted from Windoze-using friends is something to behold
