Help
Hi guys,
For the past two months or so I've been having trouble getting into chat on PPrune. Everytime I try to access the chat room it comes up with:

I have tried removing my cookies and then re-activating them and also clearing the cache, etc but nothing seems to work
Any ideas would be hugely appreciated

Hi there. I can't help you on the problem in hand but can give you a bit of advice regarding the title of this thread.
Simply 'Help' is not really a good title. This is for a number of reasons, main one being the people who are abroad maybe in a hotel with a slow connection or something like that, it will be wasting their time.
I suggest, to keep everyone happy and to be fair to people who with poor access you should be a bit more specific in your title.
' Help-chat/java problem' would narrow things down a bit and may have a better response as some people scan the titles(if they don't have much time) and quickly see if they can help.
Don't take this as a boloxing. It is not that at all, its just a bit of friendly advice as I posted ' Help me' ages ago as a title of a thread and got absolutely hammered, for all of the above reasons for doing that....!!!!!!!

Hi guys,
Thanx for all your responses, and Big Red L, thanx for the tip
It has been duly noted (frustration at two months of not being able to access the chat room has driven me to it)
I've tried all those things including disabling the firewall and removing the virus protection software but nothing seems to work. Have also downloaded the latest Java stuff as well which also didn't work
The only thing I can think of is that I have recently switched to broadband.... although for the first few weeks after I switched there weren't any problems at all. I've also checked with a few other PPrune users and they are having exactly the same problem (there are lots of them at work and most of them can't access chat), so I'm wondering if its something that has changed since the crew did the software alterations.
Any opinions and advice would be hugely appreciated
Thanx

it's not the broadband. When they did the Chat upgrade, I also had a machine which would not join chat. I upgraded the IE and it still didn't work, I eventually had to unistall it completely. Then I installed version 6 from scratch and that worked OK.
Can you confirm that, apart from downloading the Java itself, you downloaded the latest Java version of Opera and that that didn't solve the problem either?
