Restrictions on this Computer ???
This one has me baffled....doesn't take much at the best of times!
2 computers connected to a LinkSys Router fed by a cable connection.
Compac Laptop, P3, 600 Mhz, 6 GIG HD, Windows 98 SE, IE 5.5
Sony Viao Desktop, P4, 2.40 Ghz, 80 Gig HD, Windows XP, IE6.
The Sony Desktop is the master.
Set-Up has been like this for 7 months and everything worked well.
Don't remember tinkering or changing any internal settings on the laptop, but for about a week now whenever I select Tools/Internet Options on the Menu bar, I get the following Message Box:
"Restrictions - This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."
...There's no System Administrator. I'm it!
However, when I go to My Computer/Control Panel/Internet Options......all the selections are available.
Anyone have any ideas how to remove the "Restrictions Message Box" from the Tools/Internet Options selection on the Menu Bar in I.E.????
Thanks in advance for your help.

Many thanks for the links. Problem solved! It was in something I downloaded from Spybot!
Another example of the tremendous wealth of knowledge, readily shared from this excellent site.
Thanks for your help. Much appreciated!
