Win98, plenty of free HDD space. Tried to install a program and get the error message "E:setup is not a valid Win32 application". Program says it runs under Win98. What the 
is happening here ???

This message is generated by the Windows operating system when it is unable to properly load the Setup program from the diskette/CD-ROM. This is due to either:
1. The CD-ROM drive is not multispeed or multiformat compatible. This is found mostly in low-end or older ROM drives.
2. The diskette/CD-ROM is damaged or defective.

Clean the disk and try again. Try another CD drive.
If it's the disk send it back and ask for a replacement.

If you have plenty of space on your hard drive, create a temporary folder, and copy the whole install disk there. Run the setup.exe from the location on your hard drive. I've seen stranger things work.
