Running XP Professional on PC & laptop. PC has decided not to play DVD movies anymore using WMP9, but will play using other programmes (intervideo). Laptop is playing fine. Have checked for updates, and done troubleshooting which doesn't solve problem. Any ideas ?

You need a 'pluggin' to make Media Player able to play DVD's ...... see :

Maybe you already had one with Ver 8 and need to set it up, or maybe its not upwardly compatible with Ver 9. ????
Good luck

Thanks for the reply noblues. But my pc was already playing dvd's successfully on wmp9, and now it isn't ? The error code suggests reducing resolution, checking for new drivers etc. I've tried all that to no avail. If it used to play them OK, and it doesn't now then presumably it's something I've done. Any other ideas guys & gals .
