60,000th pprune member
Did anyone notice(about 3 weeks ago) the members total at exactly 60000 with an 'odd' newest members name? Stayed like that for about an hour. Then the total went down to around the 57000 mark. Strange!
Perhaps PPRuNe HQ have deleted a number of registered 'names' that have been inactive for a very long time?
There was some mention of this a while ago, not long after the last upgrade as I recall.

It was mentioned on the second page of this tread

Did not change though, look at the names registered there loads you never hear anything from.
Clean them out, I say.

See post by Capt PPRuNe, about half way down the first page.

Yep, about once a month I go through the list of new members and anyone who has not confirmed their email address gets deleted. Usually about 250-350 users at a time.
Some usernames are never used to post. Anyone who needs access to a private forum has to be registered even if they never intend to post anything. There are many thousands of people registered purely for access to their private forums.
