Dialup on startup!
For some reason my new Win 98 PC has taken to starting the BT Internet dialler before going into windows.
It does this at the same point as it asks me for the windows passsword.
Any Ideas anyone?

Go into the control panel and check.............
1. the modem settings
2. the internet connection settings.
Every so often this problem would affect me. I pinned it down to new software re-setting my preferences.
I'm now on NTL broadband (24/7) and don't have anymore problems.
If you continue to have problems email me.
Ron.

It was bloody zonealarm! I never knew they would just dail up like that! Disabled it now!
Bloody cheek! Love the way they don't tell you.
I'll have to check all the other programs that do this.

Glad that people sorted it for you.
Why use zonealarm??
We tried different firewalls on our network & zonealarm was the first one we junked.
We currently use blackice.
On this machine I also use SpyStopper. This blocks other things that your firewall and virus software don't.
In the past 7 months the blocked figures are:
Ads: 15,406
Bugs: 2,627
Cookies: 4,906
Scanners: 1
Scripts: 538
Spyware: 1
Stylesheets: 74
Websites: 9
This is just an indication of how much cr@p they try to send you.
