IL-2 Sturmovik....fantastic !!
Anybody fancy a real blast online, try IL-2. Just got it and can't stop playing it.
It really puts Microsoft Flt. Sims in the 3rd division. The detail and a/c modelling are superb. For once the Ruskies are leading the way !!

Yeah, I bought it 3 days ago ... pretty cool.
Have been using MS Combat Flight Sim Ver3 before, IL2 takes a lot more 'getting into' and the manual is useless, BUT the a/c and detail and flight model in IL2 is superb.
Although I still think the CFS3 online setup is better and more active.
Also on IL2 a rear view button would be helpfull.
Took me 2 days of use to find the Cntrl F1 option for No Cockpit View and the basic instruments .... best way to play it.
I prefer the 'cone' on CFS3 for chasing and tracking an enemy a/c, the 'padlock enemy' on IL2 is good, but only useable when using the in cockpit view, and although realistic acting like your head turning in the cockpit, its very easy to lose orientation.
All in all I think IL2 and CF3 are both excellent packages.
PS : bought it at PC World, on their web site at £20 and in the shop is £30. Questioned this at the shop and they split the difference and got it for £25 ........

The new IL-2, forgotten battles, which should be released in the next few weeks will have a lot more flyable a/c including the Me262.
The only problem with the game is, you need a pretty heavy duty pc and graphics card preferably with broadband, in order to get a good online dogfight.
