Word problems

I've got Word Microsoft 2000 office. Now that I actually have to use it, every other sentence a warning pops up about it not being able to use "auto-correct", and asking if I want to install that. Since the original dsikette is still somewhere in a moving box, I DON'T want to install anything and click the NO button.
Only for the same thing to pop up again 2 sentences later.
This makes using word impossible, so I now have to write everything in Oulook which is a pain.

Any smart suggestions of how to get rid of this irritating question without finding the diskette and re-installing the whole thing? (no time for that at the moment)
Many thanks,
f40

Try Tools/Options/Spelling & Grammer and uncheck "Check Spelling as You Type"

Might work

Try setting it, close Word, re-open Word and then unsetting it. It often clears the progs brains. I've found that technique quite successful (on many progs, not just Word)

Cheers
