Savage video card

I have an intell MB (new) with P4. It has a 4X AGP slot rated 1.5 volts. Using Windows 98 SE. The video card is labelled Savage IV, and is new . Apart from the size (32 MB) and that it fits, I know nothing about it and cannot find Savage on a web site. When I run the driver it seems to do its job (says it has loaded the driver and tells me to re-boot), but when re-booting the machine goes back to standard VGA. It will not use the Savage driver and will not go out of 16 colors/ 800 x 600. I tried disabling the standard VGA but when re-booting the same thing happens. When I tell it to update the driver it says there is not a driver on the CD and when I select the driver from the list it does not recognise the driver list on the CD, but sticks at the folder title (W98). Is there a way to force the system to use the new driver?
