DVD-R/+R recommendations

Anybody have any experience of a DVD burner be it a -R or +R? Any recommendations for make or model? Software?

Would like to eventually put DV movies onto DVD for viewing on home DVD player (yes I know it needs to be compatible)

Get a Sony DRU-500A.

DVD +R/+RW/-R/-RW - CD R/RW. Best of both worlds.

I don't have a problem since I'm using Memorex. I've updated it from their site though.

They have another upgrade patch coming out to increase burn speed to x4.
