MCC Pilot Log - Installation Issues
Hi, I purchased MCC Pilot Log back in 2018 with a Lifetime licence, however I am having issues installing & running the software. The product has moved to a subcription base now, however I don't want to move to that model yet as previously MCC Pilot Log was working for me. I have since got a new PC and it's having an issue installing it. I've tried contacting their support to no avail, so I am posting here to ask for any recommendations on good electronic logbook programmes out there please. Or, if anyone is still using MCC Pilot Log?
Thanks,
Thanks,

I am still using MCC Pilot Log. It works fine for me, but I have not had to reinstall it for a while. Happy to help out if there's anything I can do. What sort of problem are you seeing?

Thanks, I have installed it and also just uninstalled and tried to reinstall. When I open the programme up, it says: 'Updating the software failed! Make sure you are connected to the internet'. I just click 'Ok' and then it closes. I haven't found a way of getting support from them as they have moved across to Crew Lounge with no support from MCC Pilot Log. The only solution here I can think of is to upgrade..

Right, I see the problem now. I am actually running Crewlounge Pilot Log, not the old version. The switchover to Crewlounge was quite a while ago now, so I guess you missed that one. Have a look at https://pilotlog.crewlounge.aero, you may be able to upgrade using your existing licence but you will need to ask them. Essentially, it's the same kind of setup but things may look slightly different. I cannot remember what kind of deal I used when I moved across but there were some options that were reasonable I remember (otherwise I wouldn't still be using it).

It is working well for me. The software can do a lot of things that I don't need, such as roster imports, but the main thing for me was that I had put a lot of effort into getting my old Excel file into MCC Pilot log and moving across to Crewlounge pilot log saved me having to do all that again. I run it on a Mac and because of that, it is a bit 'different' as they use a platform independent bit of software as the basis. Once you've got it installed, it runs fine for me. Regularly updated as well. You need to be precise when entering flights on new aircraft, first add the aircraft before continuing otherwise you can run into an error, but I can live with things like that.

The guide on how to transfer across is here: migrate from mccPILOTLOG to CrewLounge PILOTLOG : CrewLounge Online Support
That does assume that you can still get into MCC Pilot Log, which is the trouble in your case. You can have a look and see if your backup files are anything like what is described here. The company should be able to figure out how to do this.
