Hospital wifi anomaly

Trying to get m'lady extablished wifi service in the local hospital. The available 'service; is the 'Ward chc' or something similar. and shows medium strength. I have tried to set up a Nexus 10 tablet, an HP 17 tablet, an HP Envy laptop and a Nexus 6 mobile phone. The only success has been with the Nexus 6. All the other three 'recognise' the available signal, but when I try to connect, they all show a message about " not being private" (or something similar) and won't complete the connection.
Can anyone suggest what the problem is, and, more particularly, how to cure it ?
TIA

Can you quote the exact message received (if possible the variations per device/os)?

My bet is that the WiFi portal has been done on the cheap and they haven't paid and got themselves trusted by Google et al.

Easiest solution is to find a basic browser that doesn't check certificates, use that to login, and then carry on with your favourite modern browser.
Be aware that in that situation, any traffic between your device and the access point could be read and potentially copied or modified. It sounds as though the hospital system is either not using TLS/HTTPs, or is doing so with an untrusted certificate. Without knowing more personally, I'd turn wi-fi off, and use mobile data. Or use wi-fi but assume everything that goes over it could be read by 3rd parties.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to try the three, which won't connect , again tomorrow, and make a note of the messaging and results.
Will report back.

Sometimes a message like that has the option to 'ignore' the warning and proceed anyway. If you're not going to spill all your banking details over those connections, there may not be a huge risk in overriding the warning.

Jhieminga - thank you. Yes, I decided similarly but access was still denied.
The actual message (under a red warning triangle) was "Yourconnection is not private. Hackers might be trying to steal your information from google.com - e.g. passwords etc.
NET ERR CERT AUTHORITY INVALID
below that were two check boxes ADVANCED ........... RELOAD
Checking either took me back to the start !
However...
I tried again today and all three machines made wifi connection and m'lady can indulge in the 'Screami9ng sequins' show again !
I have no idea what, if anything, has changed !

Maybe the hospital follows PPRuNe, read your message and jumped into action!

It could just be that someone whose job it is to renew certificates forgot to do so on time, and it was done overnight.
