Windows 11-compatible external DVD drive

Can anyone point me to a reasonably-priced W11-compatible external DVD drive that works properly from first hand experience? Most of the eBay/Amazon offerings look to be cheap Oriental tat and their blurb states that W11 OS combinations will only work 'with the network', whatever that means. I'm building a system and the Thermaltake S300 case that I've picked up for a good price doesn't have an internal enclosure. There are too many conflicting buyer's reviews for me to have any confidence in the various products.
Thanks in advance.

I wanted to install some rather old apps on a new Win 11 laptop. I purchased a "Multi OS DVD Writer" GPM1NB10 from H.L Data Storage. It worked as expected.

Not sure where in the world you are, but in the UK I've often used ebuyer and been happy with their service: https://www.ebuyer.com/store/Storage/cat/Optical-Drives.
I've not used external USB DVD drives, but I've always found that Samsung, Hitachi, LG and Liteon internal drives have been reliable.
Here's a review site's suggestions:
https://www.laptopmag.com/best-picks...nal-dvd-drives - looks like their top pick is a similar Hitachi device to stevef's suggestion.

Thanks, EXDAC and Saab.
I've gone for an Hitachi (LG GP60N) on your advice - £26.95 new, inc shipping. Favourable reviews re Windows 11 too. I'll report back when everything's together, it might be useful for someone else.

I'm happy to report that the Hitachi works fine straight from the box with W11. Comes with a Cyberlink Media Suite disc too.
