As a computer/internet incompetent dinosaur,I have just tried to send a reply to an email fro a doctors secretary,and a caption appears containing the following ;

ERROR X

before retrying (6-1-3-1)ID(5ED9B8A722ECDDCA)[Err code:553]

What are you using to send that message? Webmail from a provider? Outlook, Thunderbird?

Somebody's email filters (probably theirs) don't like some thing in your email. Any Internet links in it as that's the usual things filters take a dislike to, may also be picking up on key words.

Is the sender's message included in your response? Anything in that which might cause an issue?

When I was arranging for a roofer to do some work for me, I was unable to send their office anything by email other than my original reply accepting their quote (original request for a quote was in person as I passed by their office regularly!). No idea why, all subsequent emails sent by both laptop and phone bounced back, so text/visit became our comms route.

Thanks all.I was just trying to respond to an email via BT mail,just confirming appointment time & fees,plus a few extra details pertinent to my case.Eventually started over again,leaving out a couple of lines,and it went through.I'm still baffled.

You should check online for the surgeries website, I can do appointments, order prescriptions etc direct off the site. they can if they have one sign you up for it. you can even have it so you can check your records.
