Too many google chrome apps running

My computer has become so slow. I went into task manager and saw that there are at least 17 google chrome apps running.
But I can't get rid of them. It's always running.
Thanks for any help!
My 9 year old computer is much faster than this one.

Maybe a screenshot of the Task Manager?

Alt PrtSc copies the current window to the Clipboard
Open Paint
Paste
Save with appropriate name for you - Note the folder it goes to because you will need that later
Use Image Button to add image to post - You have to "Upload" it - Interface is not that great but it works.
Image button shown Large and Normal.

Browse your device
Find image file you saved earlier
Open it
Once it has loaded (can be a while for big images) Press Upload

Yes a lot of steps - hopefully it's worth it. Some forums I read simply allow images to be Pasted from the clipboard. Many fewer steps, 2 vs 9.

I use a computer that is old and slow. I like to have a lot of tabs open as I don't want to forget something interesting I want to go back to and read some more. I recently discovered that many web pages run scripts all the time they are open but that they seem to stop if the window is minimised.

Press the minimise button at the top right of the screen. To re-open use the Task Bar.

Minimise button is at the left or these.

A clear reduction of CPU use can be seen when all browser windows have been minimised.

You can use "Show Desktop" to minimise all windows with a single click.
