Silk Browser on Firestick/Fire TV

This runs well, but I cannot see how to move a map around - eg the met office weather map - using the 'circle' cursor. I had expected that positioning the cursor on an edge would scroll the map in that direction, but it doesn't..

I have no experience of these devices however I had a wee look on google and found a couple of things that might help.

[fire tv silk browser scrolling]

https://www.amazonforum.com/forums/d...crolling-issue
https://www.amazonforum.com/forums/d...-fire-stick#c8

"You have to hold down the big circle button in the middle of the firestick remote (the one you select things with) and while holding that down use the circular arrow things (that surrounds the big button) to move up or down. Your dragging instead of scrolling so I believe up is down and vice versa"

"Found it! I found out how to "grab and scroll" on the Craftsy video that I was viewing. My issue is resolved.

I clicked the select feature. I pushed the down portion of the button because I was trying to scroll down. That is why I was unsuccessful. I went to the very bottom of where I was trying to scroll, grabbed the page and scrolled up so that it brought the part that I was trying to see into view."

Thank you jj - excellent detective work! I will try that next time I am with the equipment. You would think that would be on a help page from Amazon!

Had a chance to try it today JJ, and it don't work! It invites me to use '2 fingers to move the map' which is difficult on a non-touch-screen TV!! I used the two fingers instead for amazon.....

Still stuck - anyone?

Have you got the ‘mouse toggle’ Apk downloaded to the Firestick ?
Once you’ve got it, to activate/deactivate the pointer all you’ve got to do is press the Play/Pause button twice and you can scroll easily with the pointer using the quadrant buttons around the main button.

NRU - no, but I cannot see how it will help? I already have the moveable cursor on screen.

I have been trying to find info on the apk - does it enable a click and drag, which would solve my problem?

Apologies, I misconstrued the problem from your post.
Although I usually use Firefox on the Firestick, Ican’t get the map to move either.
Sorry to mislead you/waste your time
Rgds,
NRU

NRU - don't apologise - I have looked at the apk and will install it at next opportunity and report back. I also have Firefox on the stick.

Confirm the same issue, NRU - get a 'mouse' symbol but cannot scroll a map.
