BT/computer email problems

Good evening computer types

We have a BT address as our main email, and have done for many years quite successfully but we now but we have a problem which was first apparent on my wife's lap top but is now affecting my computer.

I first noticed something odd over the last few weeks when using the laptop that when typing or editing an email I would occasionally get a message in the centre of the screen that said "System Busy Please Wait" which eventually cleared and I was able to carry on.

Now however I can open the internet using Google Chrome and the BT Homepage comes up fine but when I click on email I get a blank page, in the top left corner it says Email Login Page and in the centre of the page is a small clock kind of display going round and round and nothing happens. I tried looking at my emails on Firefox which worked a few times but now has the same problem but it does work using Microsoft Edge - at the moment
We can pick up emails on my wife's phone OK.

All other parts of the internet, BBC, pprune and newspapers seem to be OK and my own GMAIL is working fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks
H

Hi H,
Could be a number of things, of course, but since it's affecting both of you that could be helpful. Presumably you have anti-virus something or other installed, but still the odd thing can slip through.
Have a look in Task Manager, (Right-clickthe bottom of the screen to find it) and see what resources are being used; at the bottom of the pop-up you will see CPU usage and memory usage. With the system idle there should be little or no usage.
Suggest you might like to download (if you haven't got it) Malwarebytes free, and run it from main screen: a full scan, which may take some time, particularly as the computer shows signs of being busy.... incidentally, have you had any other application (Word, Excel etc) slow appreciably?

Thank for that. Checked the CPU useage with everything off and it was mainly 1%. Main activity appeared to be my AVG flicking on and off at 0.2% but others such as Skype flicking on and off at about 0.1%. Also my wireless printer was occasionally flicking on and off at around 0.1%
Haven't noticed anything being particularly slow lately.
Ran a full AVG scan and no problems noted.
Have contacted BT and they say they have a big email problem affecting some customers and will call me soon but suggested using OUTLOOK or some other third party where I will be able to access my email.
Can still log onto emails on my desk top using EDGE. Hopefully a BT problem.

Ditto

I have the same problem.
BT mail not loading , blank page with circle rotating. on IE and Chrome.
The only way I can open my BT mail is by logging on to "My BT", then clicking on to "Mail".
I had a long "On-line" chat with BT support yesterday, a load of old cods, to no conclusion!
