Skype V7.41

If, like me, you hated Skype V.8 ('Skype for Kids'), you'll be happy to know that Microsoft has now restored access to Skype Classic.

See https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...a-e8e3b0c06c06 for more details.

The download link worked fine for me a few moments ago!

Hmmmmmmmm seeing as Microsoft locked me out of Skype saying that my account was blocked ... even though I never had one .... I'm not sure how 'kosher' this might be. Glad it worked for you, and would like to hear from others who have tried it.

Fed up with 'bundling' even though MS now own Skype.

I have 7.40.0.151 on my Win7 desktop and 7.40.0.104 on my Win10 laptop with both reporting that the latest update is installed.

Unfortunately it seems that those arrogant so-and-sos at Microsoft intend to kill off Skype V7 w.e.f. 1 Sep 2018....

Ba$tards!!

Best Skype version is 7.37.0.103 readily available from filepuma.com for download. After install disable Auto Update (in Options).
After September is will continue to run fine - just don't ask MS for any tech support.
"If it ain't broke don't fix it" seems an appropriate adage in Skype's case......
