I used it, then it vanished.

The day of date calculator.

I'm now offered the difference between two dates, or how many years, months, days old I am but the nifty little 'What day was . . .' has vanished after using it once.

I happen to know what day I was born. Wednesday. In the Phoney War. Not a good start to life this being beset with Woe.

Anyway, just spent 20 mins looking at why it won't do it again, and even the Geek How to shows a much better lot of selections than I'm being offered now.

Is it a joke? Get you all excited in how you can impress folk you're talking to by knowing the day of any date they care to mention . . . and then finding you can't.

I wonder what I'd have achieved if computers hadn't been invented.

You can do this pretty easily in Excel - as I recall:-)

And presumably in Libre Office.

Just tried excel and by typing the dates in as
a1 -> "23 may 2016"
b1 -> "23 june 2016"
Excel recognised the entries as dates.

and in an adjacent cell "=b1-a1"

poof - presto done.

Cells were automatically sorted out with correct everything to display days between.

Thanks, that's a fix for getting results, but I want to assuage my feelings of being persecuted by the dæmons in my computer. Why me??!! Why, when I find things I like, are they warped into another universe never to be attainable again? Aaaaaaagh!

Sadly LR it's the way we are going.
Folk change things, not to improve them, but just because they can, and therefore keep earning wages.
