New PC

Hi all,

Some advice please. My son has just bought a new PC with nothing loaded. He has all the disks ( XP Pro and drivers ) but we are not sure if there is a sequence to loading a new PC. Any help greatfully received.

Thanks

Thanks Aisleman,

Got the thing home and wouldn't work..... they say motherboard u/s !!!! Anyway they told him to load software driver for the motherboard first, then graphic start up driver, then monitor driver before anything else would work. Are you still advising to load XP and then everything else ???

Regards and thanks

Hi,

Never got to the loading stage, it failed on initial start up so we couldn't do anything. Get machine back tomorrow and will go for OS load.
