A 'senior' moment with OE
I have just picked up my laptop from the repairers and to cut a long story short I have had to reinstall a pile of stuff. I have managed to get onto my local ISP and downloaded OE from the MSN site as I couldnt find it anywhere in the laptop.
Trying to set up the email account I religiously follow the cues but am having my senior moment when it comes to filling in the incoming mail(pop3) and outgoing mail (smtp) boxes. Do I put in 'mail.ispname.net' in both boxes? Have tried all sorts of combinations and cant seem to suck in my mail. I do suck in error messages tho' as follows:
<<The host 'mail.ispname.net' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'Ispname mail', Server: 'mail.ispname.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D
Looked high and low for help inc the pprune search engine but have been baffled by gobbledegook.
Anyone out there able to turn my 'senior moment' into a happy moment? K.I.S.S!
