Hotmail via Outlook
Any way I can pick up my hotmail account using Outlook?
If I can do that, it should be possible to use mail washer on it.
I know web mail support is coming, but I knew there was a way to read your hotmail through outlook , but I can't remember the settings.
Thanks

Ah... I'm doing it now...
RF,
Outlook isn't too good at doing it, but you should have Outlook Express on your system. Try going to (in Outlook Express, MIGHT work in Outlook): Tools/Accounts/Add/Mail, enter a name, click next, select 'I already have an email address I'd like to use', type your Hotmail address ([email protected]), click next, click next again, type in the first part of your address ('jbloggs' in this case), type in your password, click next or finish, should appear in your folder list after that.
Cheers,
Nial

Hmm, I can do that now. Thanks.
I got the hotmail server address which was
http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp
Tried to create a new account on mail washer, using that as the POP3 server name. It said Enter a valid POP3 address.
So is it possible?

Keenly interested in replies!! I use Outlook Express and have a Bigfoot address, just before xmas an ex-girlfriend decided to send my name to porno site lists and since then I've been plagued by porno mail. Usually Bigfoot is EXCELLENT at keeping out spam, but in this instance the spammers have my actual e-mail address. Was hoping that the (excellent looking) mailwasher was just what I wanted, but it doesn't appear to work with Bigfoot either.
Any huge brained people out there got more ides please?

As of late April a Hotmail / AOL addon was coming in a couple of months. Fingers crossed....

Thought I'd try this Mailwasher thing to see if it's better than my current convoluted set of OE 'rules'. Downloaded OK, then asked for my POP password.
Yep that's right, I don't have the faintest idea. Wrote it on that same piece of paper I had the time on. Now before I call my ISP to demonstrate what a doddering old f@rt I am, is there any way I can find it on my HD ? I know it's in there somewhere because it prefills my POP logon. So where is it ?

To retrieve hotmail through outlook try using this mail forwarding programme. It works well for me
