Help with a MSWord 7 problem please

Having typed several pages of a document in Word, without warnings or obvious reason the text went straight to red and underlined. No indications at all that I can see. Highlight and delete reproduces the deleted word with a line through it and right clicking asks if I want to accept the deletion.

There seems to be no way I can get it back to normal, even system restore doesn't work.

Any helpful ideas or suggestions much appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like you accidentally turned on "track changes". You should be able to turn it off again.

I've no idea where it would be in Word 7, but maybe this helps.

Thanks Bushfiver, I may have complicated the issue as I had scanned, to a USB stick, a document in a .pdf format, (that is what my printer/scanner does), then converted it to .rtf, from the conversion I then copied and pasted a large piece of text, I ran into problems when I wanted to add text after the pasted piece using MSWord 7! Gave up and closed that document and started a new one without any problem. Got the hint when I tried to work on the same piece on a different computer with MSWord 10 and got the same problems, just a blue colour instead of red! Thanks again.
