USB>DVD Player

Hi

1) My DVD player (with USB port) will play Divx DVDs only. If I loaded another type of format movie clip (Windows 7) on a USB stick, would the Divx format requirement still apply?

2) How can I 'finalize' a DVD using Windows DVD Maker? Not having much luck.

3) Does anyone know of any free (safe) software to convert various move formats from A>B e.g flv>divx

Thanks in advance.

I have used Format Factory for converting file types for several years. Works well, and fast.

If you look at that DVD in a file manager perhaps you will be offered the finalise option there?

Thanks for the info Vulcan, I'll give it a go on both suggestions.

One thing I did find purely by accident when I loaded up the DVD tray on my computer with a disc in Divx format and opened the file was the original film in .avi format. The computer wouldnt play the disc but when I carried out a copy / paste operation on the avi file, WMP and VLC player handled it no problem. Dont know if it will help in your case or even that its relevant but it might help someone else...
