Packard Bell laptop not recognising SD Card.

My Packard Bell Easynote TE11HC laptop has stopped recognising SD Cards (or USB drives) with the message:-
Broadcom SD Host Controller is not working properly.
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
Any ideas as to what I can do to rectify this? I have tried the inbuilt Troubleshooter but it only reports what I already know and doesn't resolve the problems.

Broadcom Netlink Gigabit Ethernet is not working properly.
Broadcom xD Picture Bus Driver is not working properly.
Broadcom Memory Stick is not working properly.

Windows 7 Home Premium - service pack 1
8GB memory (4623MB available), 750GB HD (520GB free)

You could try the following:

Locate the defective device in device manager and uninstall by right clicking on the device entry. Now reboot. Windows should detect the device and will re install the drivers. With some luck it will resolve the resource conflict which gave rise to the specific error message you got. Do let us know what happens!

Update Drivers

Use DriverGenius to update all your drivers.
That get's things solved.
DriverDetective is good as well.
I use both on my PCs.
