TD :

I know we touched on this briefly in chat, but if it works the same as IE, there may be something worth looking at.

When you download in IE, it puts the file in a temporary folder, defined in the registry - note this is NOT the same place as the file ends up.

So, Bloggs does his homework, says "This 10Mb file won't fit on C: as there's only 2Mb left, so I'll stick it on D: where there's loads".

What happens - IE downloads to a temp folder on C:, stuffs up, and unless you dig a bit you've no idea it's doing it.

Worth checking, and if it's not that, don't know.

Tony,

Saw you are using GoZilla the download manager, did it break and resume at any point?

Send me an email with the URL and I'll download it from DSL to a CDR if you want.

Cheers

Yes,I did break the download a couple of times.
Thank you Mr GE your are a gentleman and a scholar, but a good friend in the States has already volunteered to do this and burn it onto a cd for me.
Mr NF, from what I can see gozilla has its own download folder and the 129meg exe file is sitting in there with a big stupid grin on its face.
I have downloaded quite a few largish files over the years the biggest prior to this was about 46meg.
I have had the occasional corrupt file, one notorious one was from Nvidia driver download site, tried that about four times, each time it came up as corrupted, downloaded the same file from a third party site and it was fine.
I notice some sites do not allow download managers to be used ie microsoft updates ect, this is a pain, frustrating when you lose your connection during a large download..

Thanks again for the help peeps
