Not getting notifications from some forums.
Hi all...I belong to a number of forums covering various hobby's I have,
For some reason I'm not getting notification to threads I am involved with,
Doesn't happen with them all just some...quite annoying as it maybe weeks till I find out I need to reply to somebody,
I use Firefox as my browser and Thunderbird for email,
Fingers crossed somebody can help.
Nick.

You guys maybe onto something ...I have an NTL or Virgin email address...
Just had a look at my emails on Virgins website rather than through Thunderbird which I normally use...the spam box on Thunderbird never has anything in it,
Anyway on the Virgin web page...when I access my mail there are lots of spam messages....I wonder how I can get Thunderbird to display them.
Nick.

I can only comment on what what I see at my own ISP (Internode Australia), but perhaps Virgin's "spam management option' has a facility which allows you to kill held messages which you "confirm' as spam, and to view and/or release the good ones. At my ISP, this latter action (release) makes them available for your email program to download in the next session, and also adds them to the friends list which means that future messages from that source will come through unimpeded.
You may have to hunt for it, but I would expect that Virgin should have a similar feature.

However, I find that it doesn't "learn" that messages from senders that you remove from spam should not be treated as spam in the future.
The best (most reliable) method is to set up a filter (Settings > Filters) to tell it never to put this sender's messages into the spam folder.
