Windows explorer behaviour

After a restart this morning following Windows updates yesterday I have an oddproblem. One particular folder has lots of subfolders but all these folders aremissing. All the files are still there but lumped together under the mainfolder. Looking at the properties of any particular file I can see all thesubfolders listed. This problem is only on this one folder, all the others show the expected subfolders.

Anyone seen this before? Wonder if it could be caused by yesterday's updates. I could try restoring this folder from the backup but I would like to try to fix it before I resort to that.

Run chkdsk, it sounds like a disk corruption problem.

Got it!
Over in top right hand corner there is an 'Arrange by' option, it was set to 'Date modified' and this promptly gets rid of all the subfolders.
Live & learn.
