Hyperlinks appearing within postings

I have just started finding new hyperlinks appearing at random on PPruNe threads - in postings and on the pages themselves.

For example, at the top of this page the word "internet" is underscored and hyperlinked with a green icon to the right. When I hover on the green icon it says "Internet Survey £ 75.00 Gift!" and at the bottom of the window it says "2014 VisitorSurvey.com"

I'm running Windows 7

Has anyone else seen this? Has anyone any ideas on how the problem can be solved.

Problem solved.

Extensions imported into Chrome only, so problem didn't appear when I logged in to the web using IE. Somehow (probably from dodgy website) must have imported the extensions from another website, can't be sure which one. Deleted erroneous extensions, and now all unwanted hyperlinks and advertising gone.

Lesson - don't click on iffy sites!!!

I'd suggest running anti-malware scans in case he invited some of his dodgy mates along to the party.

AdwCleaner: https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewd.../1-adwcleaner/

Malwarebytes: https://www.malwarebytes.org/

Hhmmm! I too had those. Malwarebytes picked it up and disposed of it.
It was something like dealstri.com, flagged up as a PUP
What gets me is where the hell did it come from

Probably came along as an unwanted side load when you installed another browser extension. Quite possibly you opted for a default installation which left all the "extras" ticked or missed unticking something 15 pages deep.

What niggles me is I never loaded a 'browser extension'. And I cant think of any site I've looked at that could have had it hidden. Could it have come from pprune???
Anyway all is good and its gone now
