I hate LiveMail with a passion but I had a bad experience with Mozilla Thunderbird and have never felt confident with it.
Moved to Thunderbird and so far no problems - but never say never I guess.
I might have tried Outlook, but they want money for it, so stuff that for a bowl of cherries.

HH - looks like the short answer is no. Not known to me either, but seems to be well reviewed. I guess the verdict will depend on suport and how/when it updates to each new OS. Thunderbird seems to be ok on both counts.

I'm playing about with it this weekend - installs fine and even managed to connect to BT with only one failure (!!!)
looks very clean and minimalist but with a lot of options and is VERY quick
Doesn't handle POP3 only IMAP which means its a bit of a bugger if you really want all your emails kept locally
