My Android tablet, a Novatech cheapie, running Android 4.1.1 has served me well for over 18 months so far.
Everything I use it for has been fine. All the apps work fine, as does internet and mail access.
However, the app for The Times has refused to work on it for the last few weeks. Only the app for the Times is causing me grief..
The basic help desk at the Times is worse than useless. The "advanced" helpdesk at the Times will not respond to either e-mails or phone calls. They promise to call back, but of course they never do.
So the Times' standard of service is much worse than all the usual criminals of customer service. By comparison, BT and npower are Saints.
On the off chance that anyone has any bright ideas, so far I have...
* deleted and re-loaded the app about 12 times. Turned the tablet off and on with and without the app present.
* done 2 full factory restores of the tablet. done 1 partial reset and restore in sequence.
* deleted all downloaded stuff, and re-instated it.
I can't think of anything else to do. Any ideas?
Novatech them selves suggest that as I've done the factory re-sets, the issue must lie with The Times app. On the android app store, there are gazillions of complaints about The Times.

The Times works fine on swmbo's ipad. I am in Cambodia and reading the Times on it now.
As to restarts/reloads and etc., yes I have done all of that.
