Connecting to staticwebsimages.com WTF!!!!
W7 Pro FF 25.0.1
Not good. ebay, the watch fettling site, others, all coming up either with a white screen with a little blue writing, or just calling the above .com with no result.
PPRuNe is perfect.
Firstly could it be a major glitch on the net or local?
Even my FF 'Headlines' (BBC) won't run.
Wife loaded FF last night, and she mentioned this morning that's all she could get on 'sites'.
Is there the remotest possibility that her download of FF (she'd been on Chrome) could have brought a problem/virus and that it could have come to my hard wired PC via the router?
Bewildered.

Well, the wife's computer was the same.
The whole question came about by having just been told by my wife that her 'sites were all white with (a small amount of) blue writing.' She had just downloaded FireFox for the first time. I then booted mine to find the same thing - with this thread's title in the bottom left corner. It was stalled there.
But I may have been barking up the wrong tree. That images site may just be where it hung, and a quite normal call. Just don't know.
This darn U-verse system I changed to has been quite a bit of trouble. All the wiring and an expensive box outside were all changed a week ago due to it repeatedly going off line. I have whole house filtering in said box.
The guy is some days late in changing the modem/router - I guess I should calm down and see what it's like when the new box arrives - but I'm living on the computer right now, reliant on it for practically everything - including shipping Tyrrells crisps from England.
Grief, I'm getting sad.

coincidentally, my phone couldn't access the BBC website last evening, between 10pm and midnight, can't be sure of the exact time. Perhaps the site was down/blocked/hyjacked/hates me. Also, for a couple of days, the same phone has been advising that my WiFi connection has become unstable... It still fetched all of the pages of Pprune when I wanted them.

Mmm . . . I made the mistake of being nice to an 'ispanic gentleman - maņana and all that. "Oh, it's okay, no don't drive all that way tonight." Says I. That was Friday, and now I've just put some pressure on. Should have known better.
Funny thing is, often when I can't reach the world with FF or IE and the router is blinking like mad, I can talk on Skype. Beats me.
It's more likely to be a brain-finger interconnect problem. But that's what you meant, isn't it?

Your keyboard appears to be malfunctioning too.
