DVD copying software

I'm having little success copying DVDs, not commercial ones but home-made videos. Can anyone recommend a good - preferably free - programme I can download? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, AdD.

Operating system. I ask as Windows 7 has built in copying. What does 'little success' mean?

DVD Fab copies every DVD I've asked it to.

Sometimes have to run it through Handbrake first, especially if it is "one of my own purchased commercial dvd's which I want to make an archive copy of" .

BOAC. For example dvdFab seems to be going well and then freezes. Seems to be popular so I may contact the tech. people there. My wife has Windows 7 (mine is XP), so I'll just go and make her a G&T... Thanks for the feedback. AdD
