It is is indeed a known "feature".
There's a daily (or weekly?) job run to reset the database or something like that, so it gets back in sync.
Also, it seems to misbehave more if you try to increase the number of posts per page beyond the default view settings (30, I think).

FWIW: The "page 106" problem is on by end somehow...I still cant see it from this computer (Win 7 FF 22.0) however I can see it on a pc at work with the same setup. So I assume it has something to do with the cache on this machine.
