Hotmail
Microsoft have announced they are going to retire Hotmail but have not given even an approximate date.
Anybody know more about this?

its just a question of semantics John
They've simply decided the "Hotmail" and "Live mail" brands are superannuated and have decided to rename both as "Outlook.com"
You may have noticed the change when you log into your live/hotmail account - they're refreshed the web page layout. People are being "evolved" to the new look in batches. Most have already converted.
It shouldn't affect the way you use it - the page looks a bit different, but the same hotmail e-mail address will continue. If you want you can claim an equivalent @outlook.com e-mail alias, but why bother? Keep with what you have
Microsoft really did a marketing kludge on this one, scaring people into worrying about major changes when in reality its just a marketing exercise rebrand
