I think you've been hijacked by one of the Babylon toolbar exploits
Usual answer: one by one in sequence
delete all temp and temp internet files
run TDSSKiller
run RKill
run Hitman Pro
run Smitfraudfix (if 32-bit OS only)
run Combofix
scan with Malwarebytes
scan with Spybot S&D
see what happens
You may need to reset the Windows or IE shells - post back if you still have a problem
What antivirus / security software do you have on the machine?
Whatever it is, it didn't work

Still there after the all above apart from Spybot S& D, I was warned off this as it may corrupt the windows update register thus leading to the "this is not a licensed version" yabba on bottom rh corner of screen....

Try combofix from, say, here. DL to your desktop.
Disable your antivirus, run Combofix, let it update if it wants to, follow the prompts. Re-enable your antivirus.

Help please....hehe
whoever told you that was speaking out of his rear orifice
But despite using both S & D and Combofix [boy does THAT go to town] the b@stard is still there.
OK I'm thinking deleting FF, then clean install. Any other ideas?
More bang for your buck
