Firefox. Non-recoverable crash.

Just to add to my stress levels, FF crashed last night.

On trying to start it, it put a message up that a copy of FF was still running, close it or reboot.

I'd had the symptoms before, but going to Task Manager this time was no help.

Deleted FF via Programs and Features, but it didn't help. On re-install, the message was still there!! Deleted again, but this time with all addons included. I also cleaned out the associated folders and that seemed to do the trick, but at no stage could I recover my Bookmarks.

Two hours work, and four fluffing about seems to be my production ratio at the moment.

Now, not only have I got to footle with FF setup, I've got no news. I use that all the time.

That gizmo was between Most visited and Getting started. It's always been there. Any ideas where it's gone? It seemed to be the BBC headlines, not sure.

New version is 14.0.1
