AO, I'm not disagreeing with you. My point was that while XP is supported by MS, manufacturers will make XP drivers available with new hardware - otherwise they'll be losing a sale.
Definitely wasn't meaning they'll continue to release drivers in perpetuity for all their hardware - they've already made their sale. You need to use Linux for that

I looked at virus problems, nothing else seemed to be possible. I thought it was the Sircam virus but a virus scan did not identify it and the register did not show it. I managed to get a restore point back about a month and after that the computer ran great. So it must have been a virus but I don't know which one.
