HP inkjet printer issues
HP inkjet printer with five cartridges. Three colour, one text black and one 'photo' black. Despite several attempts to clean the cartridges one of the black ones is not working and despite changing the text black for a new one last week, it still shows up as empty and is printing very poorly. Help!

Have you tried resetting the printer? Usually achieved by turning off at the mains, holding a button down and switching back on, refer to the manual for which button.
With my HP, when I had a problem, HP told me to remove both the power lead - at the machine - and the connection to the pc. Leave for 5 to 10 mins, and plug back in and turn on.
I now know the real solution is not to buy HP, but afterwards is too late.

All solved thank you!
Pulled out the power lead, it reset and then it told me the other black was out of ink. Replaced that and now we are working again. If in doubt, pull it out!
