Flashing Blue Padlock on Dell Monitor
A very annoying blue padlock, flashing on/off, has appeared in the centre of my Dell monitor. I can't get rid of it. Any suggestions, apart from a hammer? Thanks in advance. AdD

Assuming it's computer and not monitor generated try right clicking on it and see if you're offered Properties to click on. Might give a clue.
Edit to say that one above looks better.

Blue Padlock
Thanks 750XL. Tried both the suggestions on Paul's Travel Pictures (changing screen resolution and power and plus buttons on monitor). No luck I'm afraid. It's still flashing away. Thank you for your suggestion.

Try this
Press and hold menu button for about 30 seconds and see if the lock goes away,
or
Press the volume decrease and channel up buttons on the monitor simultaneously,
or
Press the volume increase and channel up buttons on the monitor simultaneously,
or
Open the OSD Menu and go to OSD settings. Make sure OSD Lock is set to No.

As a suggestion press the menu button, step down until you highlight the 'Factory Reset' then press the menu button to enter the box, select 'All Settings' then press the menu button again, select exit on the main menu. You will of course have to go through the settings to set the monitor as you like it.
You might want to plug another monitor in first to double check it is a monitor fault, although it seems most likely.

Flashing blue padlock on monitor
I tried all of your suggestions, and others too - still got the flaming padlock. Took it to the local specialist,(an Expert shop), and it was fixed. The tech was not there when I collected, but his mate said it had been 'unblocked'. (Translated from French). Not expensive, so I'm happy. Thanks for all your help and quick replies. AdD
