What is wrong with PPRuNE posting times
What has been going on over the last few days where an answer to a posting before appears above the posting at an earlier time?

Looks like a database corruption on 24th - just adding to the "charm" of PPRuNe.
There were problems with the site that morning - have been problems many days recently, TBH.

Forum time (at the bottom of the page) is at the moment 9 minutes behind actual time - maybe that has something to do with it if forum time keeps jumping around?
Yes - definitely the problem - a moment ago the time difference was 15 minutes and now it's back to showing the correct time.

'where on earth' thread

Sorry, I'm not belittling your problems, but I do know how likely it is to get fixed.

Not sure anyone at HQ is actually interested any more, but the posting times seem to have settled, while the 'latest post' database is still crook.
Correction to that - posting times still SNAFU'd

This time-stamp embuggerance problem seems to only affect
threads when there's more than one making a post at roughly
the same time.
Plays bloody havoc with the Limerick and the Last Two Letters
threads when someone fires up that damn coincidence engine!

I kept seeing a "database error" message this morning, couldn't get onto the site at all.
I think the IT people are going to have to look into this the sponsors will not be happy.
