Excel 2010

Has anyone been able to get Report Manager working in Excel 2010? It worked fine in both 2003 and 2007 but when I add the Reports.XLA into the Library14 and attempt to add the add in I get “Office has detected a problem with the file” due to “The Office File Validation feature has blocked this file from opening as it may contain harmful content”.

The Trust Centre settings all seem to be set OK.

Any ideas?

Have you run windows update recently ? I seem to recall there being a recent update for office file validation.

Thanks. My problem isn’t Add In crashes but the inability to invoke the Add In.

I have multiple machines running Office 2003 & 2007 and a single machine running 2010 (not my choice) and had no issues installing Report Manager across all the 2003 & 2007 machines.
The problem as described in my initial post occurs when you endeavour to invoke the Report Manager add in from the Add Ins available window (It’s there so assume it is within the library correctly) Ticking the box and OK results in “Office has detected a problem with the file” due to “The Office File Validation feature has blocked this file from opening as it may contain harmful content”.

Has anyone actually got Report Manager working in Office 2010?

Not tried RM in 2010; have you tried disabling DEP?

The other thing worth checking is File|Options|Trust Centre|Trust Centre Settings; check there are no ticks in any of the boxes down the right.

Last go

1. Remove RM.
2. Download Rptmgr.exe
3. Right click the file|select Properties. At the bottom of the General Tab dialogue box, is the file saying "This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer." ?
4. Click Unblock if so.
5. Re-install.
