Adobe Flash player with 64 bit.

A dear friend has W7 64 on her newish laptop. She gets excited when she is able to call up a browser, let alone find her mail. Her daughter wants her to install Flash Player, but when I looked, Adobe warned only a 32 bit os was catered for. Another pal said it's the browser that's the issue.

Any help appreciated.

Version 11 beta 2 supports a 64-bit browser on a 64-bit OS. Earlier versions need a 32-bit browser, which runs fine on a 64-bit OS. 64-bit IE9 doesn't support Activex, so there's plenty of add-ons it doesn't support.

Thanks folks. Looks like I'll be able to help her armed with that information.

At a guess someone chose 64 bit on the initial start-up, thinking it must in some way be more powerful. He also loaded Norton, but thanks to this forum, I'm fairly confident I've got rid of that.
