888 Casino

For the past few weeks, I've come back to my computer, whilst having Firefox open, to find a page with various guises of "888 Casino", inviting me to join. I've used Adblock, but I'm sure that they subtly change the URL each time, and they keep on coming.

I don't know why they've arrived, and I'm fed up deleting them.

Anyone got any suggestions for keeping these peple out of my browser??

I suspect it's a trojan, try running MalwareBytes to see and if it is remove it.

Thanks for that- tried a complete scan with Malwarebytes- unfortunately (fortunately!) no malware!

Any other suggestions?

Try THIS.

Points 2 and 3 might be worth a work through.

Get back to us, if not!

Tosh - it is almost certainly NOT 'Malware' - it is 'Nuisanceware'. Many 'free' sites will be paid by 888 or others to have their pages 'pop up' when you visit the host site. Snopes is/was one, many 'free gifs' sites do as well - it is how some sites 'fund' their content (and make money!), just like PPRune does with all the adverts. I have adblock plus and it does not stop all the pop-ups. If malwarebytes has come up clean I reckon you are ok, but don't drop your guard!
