LASER, EFATO and other abbreviations

In Private Flying, we noticed a few abbreviations that are automatically expanded, or have characters substituted automatically. I decided to start a new thread on here to gripe about it so we're not polluting the original thread any further.

So far we've identified:

EFATO
LASER

I have only entered the abbreviations (E-F-A-T-O and L-A-S-E-R) above, without explanation of what it means and without character substitutions. You can see what the PPRuNe software makes of that.

Why???

The mods seem to find Blоgspot offensive; it always gets replaced with ******** for no apparent reason. It turns up in search results, though i.e. it's in the database and just gets mangled for display purposes.

ETOPS seems to be safe, for some reason - you'd think that a prime suspect for bowdlerization.

L@aser was done to prevent google ads putting up ads for lasers in threads complaining - rightly - about how potentially dangerous pointing them at aircraft could be.

Others are done for a variety of reasons, including not promoting facebook and other such sites, and some done for amusement by those who hold the keys to the toyshop.

This (like number of posts people have made) is not a topic upon which discussion is encouraged.
