Post FAO Miguel: 'Glitches' noticed after March 2011 Server Change

Miguel, hello.

As per your request in your site maintenance announcement update, I have noticed that the font colour change option doesn't seem to be working in a normal post repy format, despite them working in the personal profile messages window.

Regards, Radar66

The removal of the security identification requirement after having entered one's username and password is most welcome!

One also understands that it is now possible to simply copy and paste an entire YouTube URL and it will automatically copy into the thread.

I still have trouble re-naming hyperlinks but will get this sorted but .. a little box prompting users to enter the name they would like to see for the hyperlink would be even easier though!

Does anyone have a guide on how to operate the functions in vBulletin and are yesterday's improvements going to be advertised anywhere?

Have also noted the loss of the colour option (most frustrating and hope it soon gets sorted).

See

vBulletin Manual

Of course, the exact functionality available to mere mortals on the site depends on the version of software in use and what functions have been left enabled by the powers that be.

Is it me - or is the font used on the website now slightly smaller than hitherto?

I do believe you're right Mr BEagle. Either that, or my Mother's prediction has come to pass.

BEagle,

Exactly the same here, no change.

Just increase your browser font size if it is suddenly showing smalller for you.

Shows the availability of 'page 117' yet clicking on it fails to advance the thread.

This phenonenon occasionally happened when someone deleted a contribution that was previously the first on the new page, but this rectified itself as soon as new contributions brought the additional page into use.

Can it be that several contributions have been removed from the above thread (as it is several contributions short of page 117)?

Apart from getting rid of the security identification letters when signing in and now being able to paste the URL for YouTube links and have them automatically linked, are there any other changes which took place as a result of PPRuNes vBulletin update yesterday?

For one thing, your public profile on here has a changed layout, with the inclusion of a message window that is visible to all that visit your profile, plus a record of who has recently viewed you.

Thankfully, however, personal messages appear to remain just that, personal and private!

That "plane down in Hudson River" thread

..in rumours and news.

I can't seem to select past page 98? Every time I go "Last Page" or click on any page number past 98, it always goes to page 98.

Corrupt thread?

This seems to suddenly to have become a much more common problem since the recent software upgrade, it used to happen on the odd rare occasion before.

It's now doing it in the BA CC industrial relations (current airline staff only) thread in the CC forum.

This seems to be getting quite frequent since the upgrade.

Yes, this problem is occurring on several threads.

Two flavors I have encountered:

1. On some, the subsequent pages are phantoms (no newer posts) and selection redirects back to the actual last page of the thread.

2. On others, selecting any subsequent pages with newer posts redirects to the same earlier page.

The main page of each forum correctly displays the time-stamp and author of the latest post to each thread.
