G-Earth 6, loss of street view.
Loaded Google Earth, only to find I can't get Street View, which I value.
In some obscure place it talks of a new system where one can move around without popping in and out of SV, but I can not find a single box to tick or menu item to make it work.
"Zooming right in." Doesn't do anything. "Pin man." ??
Before, it just worked.

Just checked on the T/V computer, and it's there. Ver 5 XXXXX But 6, has still got layers, but no mention of street view.
In Ver 6, everything in Layers is in sub-folders under Primary database. Most of the things are there, like Roads etc., but SV is not there - not even in a different folder.
They do mention in some obscure place via help, that to get SV, one had to zoom right onto the ground. It doesn't work.
It's obviously a re-vamped product, cos now one does not have to keep popping out of SV to move along. Fine . . . if only it worked.
This all came about by getting e-mails from GE extolling the virtues of new GE bells and whistles. I feared opening them, so went to GE and just did the upgrade to later ver. thinking that would have them in. I still have the old install file, I might go back to that if I can't beat the problem.

Street view is still there in version 6, 7th item down in the Primary Database listing. This then shows small cameras where street view is available, clicking on the camera enters the picture..... btw, i'm running version 6 on a MAC.

Ooooohh, that Pin Man.
Thank you so much GG...the "top right hand corner" was the clue, since it was grayed out until I went there.
Thanks Mr mutt, but even with me nose pressed against the screen, I couldn't see it in the list.
First observations is it's a worthwhile upgrade. (not what I said about it earlier.) Very important is the ease of orientating the street scene. Tracking along the line is good, and hitting the angle to go down a new road seems fairly straightforward.
